Artists, musicians and others raise funds for VA wheelchair games
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System and the Great Plains Paralyzed Veterans of America will host “A Night at the Bemis” fundraiser May 17 to benefit the 28th National Veterans Wheelchair Games, which will come to Omaha this summer.

Dr. Kiyota receives 2008 Oldfield Award
Vada Kinman Oldfield would have turned 98 on Monday. And so — as has happened every year near her birthday since her death in 1999 — a UNMC researcher received the Vada Kinman Oldfield Alzheimer’s Research Award. This year’s recipient was Tomomi Kiyota, Ph.D., a postdoctoral researcher in the UNMC Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience.
