Regents approve new cGMP facility
Patients with cancer, diabetes and liver failure will find hope in a new facility on the UNMC campus designed to advance innovative therapies. The University of Nebraska Board of Regents Saturday approved a proposal to renovate an existing building on the UNMC campus for a new, 11,825 square foot current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Transplant Production Facility.

Applications accepted for NU presidency
The University of Nebraska Board of Regents is seeking candidates for the position of president of the University of Nebraska. Review of applications will begin on Feb. 15, and continue until a candidate is selected.

Employees turn out for holiday blood drive
Forty-one units of blood were collected during the UNMC Blood Drive on Dec. 31. As a result, donors assisted as many as 123 patients in need.

Ditter earns Chancellor’s Gold U award
Working late on New Year’s Eve is no one’s idea of fun, but Julie Ditter, the administrator in the Center for Neurovirology & Neurodegenerative Disorders, didn’t mind. Neither did her support staff. And with everyone’s help she was able to submit four grants on time.

The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners presented its annual Nebraska Nurse Practitioner Advocate Award recently to UNMC pulmonologist Anthony Floreani, M.D. The award recognizes an advocate for contributions in support of the role of the nurse practitioner.
