UNMC’s Jennifer Hilger will cheer on the Huskers in person this weekend as Nebraska faces its first road test at Washington.
Before she skipped town for the great northwest, the e-mail administrator in Information Technology Services, agreed to be this year’s first guest panelist.

Heading into Saturday’s game, our regulars, Jeff Hill, M.D., Lisa Runco and Chad Kelsay and Kyle Ringenberg, are all 2-0 as they each correctly picked a Nebraska win over Idaho last week.

How do Hilger and the rest of our gang think NU fares in Seattle this weekend? Find out below.

Hilger says, “The Huskers defense looked good last week and so did our running game. Seattle’s weather forecast calls for a chance of rain on Saturday, which could affect Washington’s passing game. This should give the Big Red an advantage.” NU 28, Washington 17

Dr. Hill says, “A true test this week. Things will become clearer. Decision making under pressure will be the key this week. This will be a close game in hostile territory.” NU 28, Washington 24

Kyle Ringenberg’s daughter, Julia, and her new baby sister, Jade, show their Husker spirit.

Team Runco/Kelsay says, “We are loving what we are seeing. Granted, we’d like to see fewer turnovers and penalties, but these things will improve. Our defense will keep getting better and our offense has the ability to explode, we just need to take care of the ball. As for this week, if we can generate a little pressure on the QB, it will be a great day. Our secondary is outstanding and will keep getting better. Offensively, Taylor Martinez and company need to play with poise in the first hostile environment of the season.” NU 27, Washington 13

Dr. Ringenberg says, “Time for the much-publicized, first ‘real’ challenge for Huskers. I look for them to play with a lot of emotion, especially with half the stadium wearing red. Count on our coaches having the defense geared up to stop an offense led by a quarterback who has garnered a lot of NFL attention. The offense will be much cleaner and efficient.” NU 27, Washington 14
