Library announces changes to document delivery fees

Beginning Oct. 1, articles or book chapters in the McGoogan Library of Medicine’s print collection will now be free to faculty and staff. These materials will no longer count towards the 50 free requests for students.

These changes are being made in order to make the library’s print collection more accessible. Currently, the cost to have the library scan an article from the print collection is $3. For students, this service is included in their 50 free requests per year. Please continue to make these requests through the McGoogan Docs system.

These requests are processed Monday through Friday and will be delivered on the same or next business day. This free service is available to the faculty, staff, and students of UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center, Bellevue Medical Center, and Children’s Hospital & Medical Center.

Staff at The Nebraska Medical Center, Bellevue Medical Center, and Children’s Hospital & Medical Center will also no longer be charged for articles in the library’s electronic journal collection. However, delivery of articles may still vary, due to licensing terms.
