Lookin’ at U: Lacey Jay

Lacey Jay

Each Thursday, we randomly feature a medical center employee.
This week, we learn more about:

  • Name: Lacey Jay
  • Hometown: Paxton, Neb.
  • No. of years at med center: I have been at Nebraska Medicine for eight months.

Tell us a bit about what you do:
I am the clinic lead at the Weigel Williamson Center for Visual Rehabilitation. I help keep the low vision store supplied and in order, help with the front desk, handle the patient database and device entry, and contribute to making things run smoothly.

“Excellence” is one of UNMC’s brand values. Tell us of a time you witnessed excellence in practice at the med center.

Our clinic is situated in a low vision house which is very appropriate because every day I see our staff making every effort to make our patients feel right at home!

What is your favorite winter activity?
I like to play board games with my husband and friends (indoors!).

List three things people may not know about you.

  • My husband and I like to bike and camp.
  • I have climbed the tallest mountain in Malaysia — Mount Kinabalu.
  • I’m in a book club and love to read. I’m also an avid supporter of local libraries.
