Final week to enroll in Duo to maintain mobile, remote access

This is the final week to enroll in Duo, a multi-factor authentication technology, and install Intelligent Hub, our mobile App Store, to maintain remote access to enterprise applications.

Beginning at 5 p.m., Monday, Sept. 30, Duo will be a required second validation step to access certain applications remotely (off-campus) from a PC or laptop, when using the app store. Duo is replacing the Entrust grid cards and hard and soft tokens that have been used to remotely access enterprise applications, when you are off campus or off the Nebraska Medicine and UNMC network.

Additionally at that time, you must be enrolled in the Hub to access email on your mobile device. The Intelligent Hub allows mobile device access to enterprise applications, including Duo. From the Hub, you can install Duo mobile and enroll in Duo, which allows remote access from a PC or Laptop to enterprise apps you routinely use.

Last month, IT began offering scheduled “Tech Tents” events where colleagues could learn how to set up their mobile devices and ask questions. Those help sessions will continue this week, as well as the week of Sept. 30. For a schedule of times and locations, click here.
