Retirement tea set for Drs. Paul and Audrey Paulman

A retirement tea honoring Drs. Paul and Audrey Paulman will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4 in the Linder Reading Room at the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education at UNMC.

Remarks will begin at 2:30 p.m. followed by a special performance of Doc’Apella at 3 p.m.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Audrey Paulman, M.D., joined UNMC in 1996 and is a professor of family medicine. In 2016, she was named director of the Student Run Free Clinic Faculty Association, in which she provides mentorship to medical students.

Paul Paulman, M.D., began his career at UNMC in 1982 when he became a professor of family medicine. In 2019, he was recognized for his career-long dedication to teaching with the Varner Educator Laureate Award through the Impact in Education program in the UNMC Office of Academic Affairs.

“Over their many years as faculty members at UNMC, Audrey and Paul Paulman have touched and had a lasting impact on many, not only at UNMC, but across the region,” said Bradley Britigan, M.D., dean of the UNMC College of Medicine. “Whether it be through their roles as the leaders of the College of Medicine’s simulation program, authors of an important textbook in family medicine, innovators that resulted in the SIM-Nebraska mobile education truck program, and advocates for the primary care needs of rural Nebraska and other medically underserved, we all owe much to Audrey and Paul.
“I know I speak for the entire college in wishing them the best in retirement,” he said.
