Cancer center looking to fund pilot research projects

The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center's community outreach and engagement effort is requesting applications for its 2022 pilot projects program.

The program aims to foster the development of promising early-stage cancer research projects and encourage their transition to securing external funding.

Community outreach and engagement is an important initiative for the National Cancer Institute and an integral component of the Buffett Cancer Center. The National Cancer Institute encourages cancer centers to support research projects where outreach and engagement resulted in high-impact science.

Proposals for one-year pilot projects include all University of Nebraska faculty members with an academic appointment at or above instructor.

Proposals must be prepared using the application template and then emailed as a single, complete PDF.

The deadline to submit applications is 11:59 pm CT on Monday, Feb. 28. Complete application guidelines and eligibility requirements are in the attached application template and available online.

Questions can be emailed to the cancer center's community outreach and engagement.
