Reminder: Approval needed for UNMC social media accounts

UNMC uses social media to connect with, listen to and serve as a trusted resource to our community.

If you are part of the UNMC community and considering creating a new UNMC social media account, page or podcast, you must first submit this request form. Once you have received approval, Aurelie Villard, UNMC digital media manager, will meet with you to discuss social media objectives and best practices.

As new social platforms emerge, please reach out to UNMC Strategic Communications to see if the platform aligns with our guidelines. UNMC is currently aware of Threads, a new platform created by Instagram, and currently is testing it. As the app continues to develop over the next few days and weeks, campus communicators will be contacted about the possibility of incorporating it into the university’s social media goals. At this time, UNMC departments, college, divisions and similar entities are requested to refrain from creating an account.
