The University of Nebraska Board of Regents has removed the interim title for two UNMC leaders who also have been serving the NU System.
With the board’s approval on June 19, Anne Barnes is now senior vice president and chief financial officer for the NU System, and Chris Kratochvil, MD, is vice president for external relations.
Dr. Kratochvil has been serving as interim vice president since July 2024. Barnes has been serving as interim vice president and chief financial officer since September 2024.
In addition to their NU responsibilities, both will remain actively engaged at UNMC, where they retain their appointments. At UNMC, Barnes will continue to serve as vice chancellor for business, finance and business development, and Dr. Kratochvil will continue to serve as vice chancellor for external relations and senior advisor and distinguished chair for the Global Center for Health Security.
“As Chris and Anne continue to transition to their roles for the NU System, I am developing plans to assign some of their responsibilities to others to ensure continuous and seamless support of operations,” said UNMC Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD.
“We congratulate Anne and Chris on their permanent roles within the University of Nebraska System and are pleased that they will continue to be actively engaged at UNMC in their respective campus roles,” he said. “UNMC is stronger with their collective vision and leadership, and I appreciate all they do to help UNMC fulfill its mission and serve Nebraskans.”
