Construction crews will raze the building that formerly housed Don & Millie’s at Saddle Creek Road and Farnam Street in early April, making way for a new parking garage on the north end of the med center’s Omaha campus.
In advance of demolition, the parking lot north of Don & Millie’s – Lot 55 – was closed on March 13. Demolition will run through mid-May.
UNMC’s new seven-level parking garage is expected to be completed in spring 2028. A walkway over Farnam Street eventually will connect the parking garage to Project Health, a $2.19 billion health care facility for UNMC and Nebraska Medicine.
The parking garage will serve patients and visitors when Project Health opens.
