How I fell in love with emergency medicine:
On my medical school rotations, I was drawn to the breadth of pathology, high acuity and team-based aspects of emergency medicine and loved the people who work in emergency medicine. In residency, I found it particularly rewarding to be able to treat and lead care of critically ill patients, and that led me to pursue critical care fellowship training.
It is a special role to be able to serve the sickest patients in their time of need. I really enjoy the challenging nature of critical illness, from initial diagnostics and resuscitation in the ER to the continued management in the ICU. I’m excited to be able to practice both critical care and emergency medicine in my new role.

Three things people may not know about me:
- I love camping and the outdoors. I’ve been to 24 U.S. national parks, with many more planned in the future.
- I played multiple sports growing up, including on my high school baseball and golf teams, and I’m still a frequent golfer.
- I recently started trying to become a runner – which is more of a jog/walk for me, but I’m working on it. Wish me luck!
