Market 24 now open at UNMC Residences
Market 24, a new self-service retail market offering convenient access to food, beverages, everyday essentials, and freshly brewed Starbucks coffee, now is open at the new UNMC Residences near 38th Street and Dewey Avenue of the UNMC campus.
Market 24 will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and accessible to students, faculty and staff with UMC ID. It features an easy-to-use checkout system.

The market offers food, beverages, household essentials and a coffee machine serving Starbucks coffee.
UNMC student chosen as 2026-27 Buffett Early Childhood Institute Graduate Scholar
Marisol Loza Hernandez, a UNMC graduate student at the Munroe-Meyer Institute, was one of three University of Nebraska students selected by the Buffett Early Childhood Institute as one of its 2026-27 graduate scholars.
Buffett’s Graduate Scholars Program awards one-year fellowships worth up to $25,000 to a maximum of four NU doctoral students every year. Fifteen students—a new record—applied for the 2026–27 cohort.
The program supports high-quality research from a variety of fields – including health, education, social work, music, art, psychology, the neurosciences and others. Hernandez’s project is titled “A Community-Based Group Training Program for Spanish-Speaking Caregivers of Young Children with Autism: An Evaluation of Effectiveness and Acceptability.” Her mentor is Mary Halbur, PhD, an assistant professor at MMI’s integrated Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders.
