Taylor Vogel-Bladt, DO, is a new faculty member at UNMC.
Hometown: Avoca, Iowa
Title and department at UNMC/Nebraska Medicine: Instructor, UNMC Department of Emergency Medicine, and attending physician, Nebraska Medicine & Bellevue Medical Center Emergency Departments
Professional interests: My professional interests include providing equitable emergency care for all patients, regardless of socioeconomic background. I’m excited to practice both community and academic emergency medicine while continuing to teach and mentor residents.
How I fell in love with emergency medicine: I fell in love with emergency medicine because of its truly team-based approach to patient care. Every member of the team has a voice, creating a collaborative environment unlike any other specialty. The variety and unpredictability of each day continue to challenge me and keep me excited to come to work.

Three things people may not know about me:
- I’m a first-generation college student.
- I grew up in a small farming community in Iowa and still call it home, commuting to work after marrying a local farmer.
- My husband and I love to travel, both within the U.S. and internationally. So far, I’ve visited 15 countries, with Japan and Scotland being my favorites.
