Pediatricians now seeing patients at MMI

Adanda Chuku, MD, and Brittni Herrera, MD, are now treating patients at MMI.

Pediatric primary care is up and running at the Munroe-Meyer Institute.

Two pediatricians — Brittni Herrera, MD, and Adanda Chuku, MD — now are both seeing patients.

“Every individual deserves healthcare that sees the whole person — their strengths, their dreams, their challenges, and the life they want to build,” Dr. Herrera said.

Six pediatric patient rooms are housed on the third floor, along with expanded lab space and an X-ray suite. Clinical services, including well check visits, sick visits and physicals, are available for patients up to 21 years old.

Primary care services have been a longtime goal at the institute. Drs. Herrera and Chuku both have special interest in caring for individuals with disabilities and complex health care needs.

Primary care clients also can be seamlessly connected to other MMI services, including dentistry, audiology and multiple therapies. Families also can see additional integrated clinical support through social workers, interpreters, registered dietitians and psychologists in conjunction with their primary care visit.

“Everything built at MMI was built intentionally for the patients,” Dr. Chuku said. “The infrastructure, the medical staff, the support system in place, it has been built to serve the people that MMI is made for. When people come here, they will receive the best care possible.”
