The first UNMC Interprofessional Dodgeball Tournament will be held at noon on Saturday, March 8, at the Center for Healthy Living.

UNMC students, staff and faculty from any and all departments are invited to create teams, which should be composed of six people, representing at least four different vocational disciplines on campus.

The purpose of the event is to promote teamwork across vocational boundaries. As the Affordable Care Act is providing direction for medical education at UNMC and nationwide, interprofessionalism, and the ability to work as a team across traditional vocational boundaries for better patient care and outcomes, is becoming of paramount importance. This tournament offers a great opportunity for UNMC team members to get to know each other outside of traditional clinical settings.

Participation is free, and prizes, T-shirts and UNMC items will be awarded. Special awards will be given to the top team, best team uniform and best team name.

To register, email Austin Person with the following information: your team name and the names of all team members, as well as their profession at UNMC.

Please email by March 5 to reserve a spot in the tournament.
