Well-being, resilience focus of Feb. 28 event

Remember the excitement of starting a position, meeting new people, and the new sense of purpose? Have you lost this passion? Are you tending to your own well-being as fervently as those in your care?

On Feb. 28, discover how to strengthen your own resilience and well-being in the face of a complex and challenging health care environment.

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend UNMC’s second annual “Elevating the Conversation: Rekindling Your Spark” colloquium featuring Carol Bernstein, M.D., associate professor of psychiatry, vice chair for education in psychiatry and director of residency training in psychiatry at the New York University School of Medicine.

Dr. Bernstein also will reveal how shifting our view of mental health and overall well-being can positively impact our patients, colleagues and organization.

“We have worked hard at UNMC to reduce the outcome and stigma associated with stress, burnout and mental illness, and provide services for those experiencing this type of distress,” said UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D. “Please mark your calendars, and join us as we continue the journey on this important topic.”

Registration will open in January, and continuing education credit will be available for the Feb. 28 event that runs from 9 to 11:30 a.m. (CST) in the Sorrell Center’s Truhlsen Events Center on the Omaha campus.

The event will be live-streamed to the following sites:

  • CON Scottsbluff, Room B132
  • CON Kearney, HSEC, Room 100
  • CON Norfolk, Room 156
  • CON Lincoln, Room 307
  • COD Lincoln, Room 1201

For those unable to attend, the event will be recorded and archived at a later date.
