Free painting classes offered

Students and employees of UNMC are invited to register for free art classes.

Classes are offered as part of UNMC’s campus partnership with the Joslyn Art Museum.

In the spirit of plein air painting (creating works of art outdoors), participants will experience pastel drawing outdoors. They will learn drawing from observation, while layering and combining color. Using pastels, participants will be asked to draw the landscape around the Ruth and Bill Scott Student Plaza.

When: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays (June 6, 13, 20 and 27). Please note: registration is for all four dates.

Where: Meet in the Sorrell Center, Room 2010. The teacher will take the class outside to the student plaza.

Who: Ron Sykes is the instructor.

Registration: Class size is limited to 16 participants. Registration is required. Email the UNMC events coordinator to sign up. All materials are provided.
