New E-Learning program to focus on enhancing remote learning

Faculty and students who are interested in developing the next series of e-learning modules are invited to attend the online informational meeting on Thursday, Sept. 17. This year’s program will prioritize applications that focus on enhancing remote learning materials that were created in rapid response to COVID-19.

Informational meeting details

Date: Thursday, Sept. 17

Time: Noon-1 p.m.

Place: Online via Zoom

Each e-learning team includes two to four students led by faculty and will receive $1,000 for project creation or student stipends, as well as access to e-learning experts, equipment and software.

Teams identify a topic to incorporate into the faculty member’s curriculum that focuses on information students find difficult to retain. Student participants determine the type of interactivity that makes their content memorable.

“The collaboration between student developers and faculty members in the e-learning program has been incredibly successful in creating interactive modules that enhance student learning and make difficult subjects easier to understand. We’re excited to launch this year’s e-learning program and help faculty hone their rapid-response remote learning materials,” said Peggy Moore, director of e-learning and assistant professor in the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions.

Each project will be included on the E-Gallery, and participants will be recognized and honors given at the E-Learning Showcase in April 2021.

To apply for the upcoming E-Learning Program, faculty must submit an application by Oct. 16. Award winners will be notified by Nov. 12 and projects must be completed by March 31. Questions? Email UNMC E-Learning or call 402-559-8251.
