Terry Hexum, Ph.D.

A retirement tea for Terry Hexum, Ph.D., will be held today at 2:30 p.m. in University Tower’s Private Dining Rooms B and C.

Dr. Hexum, a professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience, is retiring after serving at UNMC for 37 years.

Dr. Hexum’s research interests are directed toward understanding the action mechanism of neuropeptides in cardiovascular function and he has taught graduate, medical, pharmacy and allied health students.

He has garnered a number of teaching awards over the years from the Golden Apple Award to the UNMC Faculty Senate’s award for distinguished teaching.

Dr. Hexum has also done numerous service tasks for the university including serving as UNMC Faculty Senate President in 2001-2002.
