Employees are invited to help design and implement a campus wellness campaign designed to increase physical activity among employees.
According to last year’s Health Risk Assessment, 78 percent of respondents said they don’t get enough physical activity.

Through this initiative, UNMC aims to reduce this number by 25 percent in the next five years.

“We know there are many on this campus who are passionate about and interested in wellness and fitness,” said Jayme Nekuda, Ph.D., division director of benefits and work-life programs. “We’d love to have these people provide input so that we can design a program that will be practical and effective at UNMC.”

Initial meeting

A meeting for potential volunteers will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. in the Maurer Center for Public Health, Room 3013.

“We are excited to see what ideas and input we receive from the campus and how these ideas will help us create a healthier campus,” Dr. Nekuda said.

Can’t make it?

Those who want to help with the campaign but can’t attend the Nov. 15 meeting can send an e-mail to jnekuda@unmc.edu.
