Anyone is eligible to submit a nomination for faculty research awards, and self-nominations are accepted. Submit nominations through this link in NuRamp on or before July 25.

Community Service to Research Award

UNMC faculty can nominate individuals or groups for the Community Service to Research Award. Award nominees cannot be employed by the University of Nebraska.

Some accomplishments for nominated individuals include:

  • Collaborator or volunteer to support UNMC research projects.
  • Advisor to a research program.
  • Community member serving on a UNMC research oversight committee.
  • Activist who speaks up for research and its value in the community.

“Community service and relationship building are a critical part of UNMC’s research enterprise because they help to build trust with the broader Omaha community,” said Ken Bayles, PhD, UNMC’s vice chancellor for research. “The Community Service to Research Awards are one way to highlight and honor these important relationships.”

Submit Community Service to Research Award nominations by completing this REDCap form.

All honorees will be recognized as part of UNMC’s Distinguished Scientist Awards Ceremony in fall 2025.
