Applications now are open for the UNMC Office of Interactive E-Learning Funded Awards Program. Now in its 16th cohort, the program is seeking the next wave of innovative faculty and student developers to create dynamic, interactive educational modules to transform health professions learning.
A virtual information session will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11 for those interested in learning more about the competitive application process. Attendees will hear about the development process from experienced module developers and e-learning instructional designers.

Award program participants work in teams of two to four students, led by a faculty member, to design interactive educational modules for UNMC curriculum. Each team receives $1,000 for project development expenses or student stipends. Developers gain access to equipment, software and expert e-learning support to guide them through the module creation process. New this year, a pilot program will explore alternative development using Articulate Rise.
“Our long-running program has produced more than 330 curricular modules that turn complex health sciences and clinical concepts into illustrated, dynamic learning experiences,” said Peggy Moore, director of interactive e-learning and assistant professor in the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions. “Nearly 900 students, faculty and staff have completed the program, making significant contributions to UNMC’s curriculum while building skills that strengthen residency and employment applications and support faculty P&T (promotion and tenure) portfolios.”
Final projects will be showcased during the in-person and virtual E-Learning Showcase in April 2027. The completed modules will be added to the E-Gallery and made available to educators and learners at UNMC and worldwide.
