Tell us a bit about what you do here at UNMC.

We are responsible for Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration and Department of Homeland Security regulatory compliance. We provide regulatory compliance support for UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center, UNMC Physician clinics, Bellevue Medical Center and Clarkson College.

Being a trusted resource is one of UNMC’s brand values. Tell us of a time you witnessed a person or group act as a trusted resource at UNMC.

My coworkers are the most trusted resource I know and I witness their values through the results of the audits I perform. Regulatory compliance can be a tricky business, further complicated by a distrust of government and personal agendas. The only bankable security you really have is the trust you earn through the performance of good service. They have earned it and the university has benefited from it.

What is your favorite winter activity?

Searching for the perfect all-in-one leaf blower/vacuum/mulcher/bagger tool that does not look and sound like a bagpipe. Yes I need to get a life.

List three things people may not know about you.

  • I have been playing guitar since I was eight years old and would give my right arm for a vintage 1960 Gibson ES 175. Then again, it would be tough to play it.
  • I always bet on a horse of a different color and it never wins.
  • If there is a misfit I usually wear it.
