UNMC/NHS develop plans for major incidents
UNMC and NHS leaders have developed a campus plan to respond appropriately to a number of scenarios from war to a terrorist attack here or abroad. Chancellor outlines state, university budget picture
UNMC is in the top of the third inning in dealing with potential state budget cuts, says UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D. The full impact of the cuts won’t be known until the ninth inning when the Legislature finalizes the state budget and the University of Nebraska Board of Regents vote on tuition increases and the university’s budget.

UNMC announces first phase of budget cuts
UNMC today announced its plans to reduce its budget by $2 million for the fiscal year 2003-2004. “None of these cuts are easy. We’ve tried to preserve our educational programs in these cuts, and I think that we’ve done a good job of selecting parts of the budget that will have the least impact on the overall vision of UNMC,” UNMC Chancellor Harold M.
