Twenty-two physicians recently completed the Physician Leadership Academy. It was established in 2004 to fulfill the need to develop physicians as leaders and to provide educational opportunities for subjects not offered in their medical curriculum.

St. Baldrick’s Foundation raises $6,500 for pediatric cancer research

“Shave-a-thon” veterans Drs. Don Coulter and Bruce Gordon strike a silly pose after having their heads shaved for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. This year’s event raised more than $6,500 for pediatric cancer research. In a lifetime, an average person will grow 590 miles of hair. We lose 40-100 hairs each day, so why not give it all up temporarily in the name of cancer research? That’s the message from the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the country’s largest volunteer-supported fundraiser for pediatric cancer research.
