Dr. LaFramboise among 2006 outstanding teachers

In her clinical teaching, Louise LaFramboise, Ph.D., always emphasizes the person in the bed. Calm in critical care situations, she helps students develop their critical reasoning and interpersonal skills with patients who are critically ill. This is the third in a series of profiles on this year’s outstanding teachers. Pharmacy students win outreach competition

UNMC pharmacy students finished 16th out of the 31 schools that competed in the Medicare Student Outreach Competition. As a result, the group received a National Council of State Pharmacy Association Executives’ award of $500.

Mark Mailliard, M.D., has been named chief of the section of gastroenterology and hepatology (GI), in UNMC’s Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Mailliard has served as acting chief since September 2004.
