Rural men use technology to improve fitness

Pilot study provided Fitbits for 12 men in rural northeast Nebraska.

Chris Johnson of Bloomfield, Neb., was one of 12 rural northeast Nebraska men who took part in a recent UNMC pilot study to test the feasibility and acceptability of the use of health-related text messages and an activity monitor with its companion app to self-monitor eating and activity.
