Dec. 24 deemed holiday — UNMC offices will be closed
Gov. David Heineman has announced that all Nebraska state government agencies will close on Monday, Dec. 24 in conjunction with President Bush’s federal government closing order. In order to implement the governor’s order at UNMC, Dec. 24 will be considered as a day of (paid) administrative leave for all holiday-eligible employees, and UNMC offices will be closed in observation of the governor’s directive.

UNMC psychiatrists head west to discuss vulnerable brain syndrome
From small groups to a packed house, two UNMC psychiatry professors recently took off on a trip across rural Nebraska to teach health care providers about vulnerable brain syndrome or executive dysfunction. It’s a term that comprises a range of diseases and it doesn’t just affect the elderly.
