Lions Clubs give $328,000 gift to UNMC low vision program
From bike riding to bingo, Lions Clubs and Foundations of Nebraska and Iowa joined forces for the first time ever to support a cause significant to the organization worldwide — the prevention of blindness. The funds raised will enhance services at the Weigel Williamson Center for Visual Rehabilitation on the UNMC campus.

Wellness Wednesday — Walking the (Cross) walk
OK, so the first story I ever wrote for UNMC Today way back in the fall of 2006 was about jaywalking on Saddle Creek Road. The gist was that Omaha police and campus officials strongly urged us med center types to use the crosswalks to cross Saddle Creek Road.
