Employees are encouraged to come to Levi Carter Park on Thursday evening to fill sandbags in an effort to protect the metro area from the rising waters of the Missouri River.

Research Notes — Higher suicide risk for LGBT surfaces in community study
Nearly 50 percent of the respondents in a research study of Nebraska’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community indicated that they had serious suicidal thoughts at some point in their lives while 26 percent of the study’s respondents smoke.
