Marv Welstead, 98, has been a driving force in raising money in the Fremont area that will go toward Alzheimer's research at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Welstead's wife, Jean, died in 2009 after an eight-year battle with Alzheimer's.

Zachary Meyer, M.D., of Grand Island receives 2019 Koefoot Award

The Koefoot Award was created in 2005 in memory of Theodore Koefoot, M.D. He was a charter preceptor for UNMC’s Rural Family Medicine Preceptorship.
