UNMC has been at the forefront of a national movement to change the way the health sciences are learned and taught.
"We are at an inflection point in the history of education right now," said senior vice chancellor for academic affairs Dele Davies, M.D.
"It definitely has been a successful showcase," said Kim Michael, associate professor of medical imaging and therapeutic sciences, and associate director of the IAE. "The academy was very well represented, and the amount of questions put forward to our presenters shows the level of interest."
Dr. Davies noted that UNMC's IAE is unique not only for its interprofessionalism, but also for its dedicated support staff, a rarity among teaching academies.
