I am a technician doing mechanical work and all kinds of repairs for facilities management and planning in the UNMC Department of Operations & Maintenance.

Since I’ve worked here for a long time, I see how Nebraska Medicine and UNMC really work. One time, I was in the hospital working when a patient needed a certain blood type. People were scrambling to get to the blood bank for this blood. It was an emergency. That incident really hit home to me. I realized how committed the people who work here are to provide excellent care, whether it’s directly with patients or behind the scenes, like where I work in facilities maintenance.
What is your favorite summer activity?
Walking! I’m trying to keep in shape and walking outside in the summer is great!
List three things people may not know about you.
- I love the Chicago Bears!!
- I love church! I am the Sunday school secretary and greeter every Sunday. I shake hands with all the people coming in.
- I love to dress! My style is complete in one of my colorful suits, shiny shoes and a hat on my head!
Ronnie is one of the most positive, friendly people you will ever meet. If he is having a bad day, you'd never know it, goes out of his way to smile and say hi to everyone he passes.
Ronnie is a great guy- always cheerful and ready to help you out.

I don't know Ronnie personally, but frequently pass him in the hallway and he always acknowledges people and has a smile on his face. A great ambassador for Nebraska Medicine/UNMC!
Enjoyed seeing Ronnie in Lookin' At U— He brightens my day every time I see him. Maybe Facilities could have a dress up day and we could see Ronnie in one of his colorful suits.

I have known Ron throughout his career at UNMC. I have always been amazed at his knowledge, positive outlook and most of al….l a total committed team player and supporter of UNMC. Ron will never say NO when asked to help or support. He is a true asset to UNMC.

Ronnie is Cool….he and I go way back since 7th grade and started here in the same year.
Ronnie is and has been a great asset for UNMC! He is always cheerful, friendly and helpful. I have really appreciated having him around to help get something fixed.

I grew up with Ronnie and we have a 3rd grade picture taken in front of Druid Hill Elementary. He has always had a great personality. Forty years is a long time to work here at UNMC you must have started right after we took those pictures.
Ronnie, you could be on a billboard for UNMC! You have a kind heart and genuine spirit. Glad to see you recognized! Your smile is contagious….keep smiling and spreading your joy on campus.

Back in the day when Jim and I conducted research with frogs, Ronnie was the guy who came to fix the incubators (where the frog embryos grew) when they broke. It was such a pleasure to have him in the lab with his winning smile and chipper attitude. To this day, Ronnie always brings a smile to my face whenever our paths cross!
Been gone from the Med Center for 20 years but always remember Ronnie.
Enjoyed the quick hall conversations and friendly smile.
