New e-learning teams awarded for 2022-23

Each year, through a competitive application process, the UNMC Office of E-Learning awards faculty and student teams for the creation of online, interactive modules.

The 13 teams selected for 2022-23 were recognized at the E-Learning Awards Meeting on Nov. 2. The projects will receive funding provided by the office of the senior vice chancellor for academic affairs.

“The program offers a unique opportunity for students and faculty to work together alongside our e-learning instructional design and technology experts to ensure a more seamless integration into curriculum in a format that appeals most to today’s learners,” said Peggy Moore, director of e-learning and assistant professor in the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions.

Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dele Davies, MD, congratulated the student and faculty awardees. “As our newest e-learning cohort, you become part of a tradition at UNMC that not only creates e-modules to assist students master difficult concepts, but advances pedagogy and instructional design across interprofessional education. I hope you find the experience as rewarding as our past participants, and I am excited to see the final projects.”

The 2022-23 cohort features 59 individuals and includes three interprofessional teams and representatives from Kearney, Lincoln and Omaha, as well as Nebraska Medicine and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. The new awardees join a group of more than 625 individuals who have already participated in the E-Learning Program and created 275-plus e-modules, most of which are available on the UNMC E-Gallery.

Teams will demonstrate the new e-modules at the E-Learning Showcase scheduled for April 2023. To learn more about the services offered by the Office of E-Learning, email or call 402-559-8251.
