Registration open for monthlong ‘TRY-athlon’ event

The Center for Healthy Living invites students, faculty, staff and community members to participate in the 2026 TRY-athlon, a free month-long fitness challenge that runs Sept. 14-Oct. 11. Online registration is now open through Sept. 11.

Inspired by the distances of an Ironman Triathlon and designed for all fitness levels, the TRY-Athlon offers flexible options to help everyone participate. Choose from three challenge tracks: Individual Half, Individual Full or Team of Three Full. 

Individual Half   

  • 10,000 meters of rowing/swimming
  • 56 miles of biking
  • 13.1 miles of walking/running

Individual Full

  • 20,000 meters of rowing/swimming
  • 112 miles of biking
  • 26.2 miles of walking/running

Teams of Three Full (team members can divide the work however they choose, but each team member must participate in each exercise)

  • 20,000 meters of rowing/swimming
  • 112 miles of biking
  • 26.2 miles of walking/running

Swimming can be completed in a pool or using an indoor rower. Biking can be completed outdoors or on a stationary bike.The walking, jogging or running distances can be completed indoors on a treadmill/track or outdoors.

Participants will submit weekly distances online, and progress will be displayed on challenge leaderboards. Prize bundles for each track will be awarded.
