Seeking booths for the Nebraska Science Festival Expo

The Nebraska Science Festival seeks applications for engaging hands-on learning opportunities for school-aged children at its April 12-13 Expo.

The free Expo, to be held at the Durham Museum, will feature an array of interactive, hands-on science-related booths for elementary-aged youths. The Expo is part of the inaugural Nebraska Science Festival, which runs April 12-14 with science-related activities at a variety of sites in and around Omaha.

Participation criteria

To participate in the Expo, decide what you’ll offer. Consider an activity or demonstration that is unique, dramatic, unusual, and that really showcases science. Also, consider:

  • Is the activity appropriate for people of all ages?
  • Is your activity “kid-friendly” and “hands-on?” Are there special logistical considerations? Safety concerns? Will you need electricity or special equipment?
  • Who will staff the booth? There is no charge for the booth but materials are provided at your own expense.

Proposal submissions

Submit your proposal — and also encourage colleagues to submit proposals — via the online form by Jan. 11, 2013 to be considered for the Expo and included in printed materials.
