HIPAA celebrated on campus

From left to right, Sheila Wrobel, UNMC/NHS HIPAA privacy officer, and Sharon Welna, UNMC/NHS HIPAA information security officer, hand out ice cream sandwiches to Venecia Parham and Eunitta Devers during a HIPAA celebration on campus Thursday. NHS, UNMC and UMA employees were treated during a celebration to recognize 12,500 employees who participated in HIPAA training. More than 25 policies and procedures were created or modified in each organization to comply with this new federal privacy legislation.
