LiveGreen: Sustainable landscaping focus of Lunch and Learn

Earth Week activities continue today with a Lunch and Learn presentation on “Sustainable Landscaping for Your Home.”

From noon to 1 p.m. in the DRC auditorium, representatives from Kinghorn Gardens will discuss landscaping strategies for the home that are both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally responsible.

Sandwich wraps from Green Belly Restaurant will be provided to the first 100 attendees.

Bookstore specials run through Friday
In honor of Earth Week, the UNMC Bookstore is offering several specials.

LiveGreen clothing is 25 percent off, and all drink ware is 20 percent off. Shoppers who bring in a reusable bag will receive 25 percent off their entire purchase, and shoppers who spend more than $25 will receive a reusable bag.

Electronics collection, confidential shredding Friday
On Friday, April 19, a household electronics collection, along with confidential paper shredding, will be offered by General Supply from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Recovery Room parking lot near 41st and Leavenworth streets. Collected e-waste items will be safely recycled or remanufactured.
