Faculty, students celebrated at COPH event

Kendra Schmid, Ph.D.
Kendra Schmid, Ph.D., assistant professor of biostatistics in the College of Public Health, received the Excellence in Teaching award at last week’s College of Public Health annual awards dinner.

Dr. Schmid also serves as the director of the college’s Masters Programs and the chairwoman of the college’s Curriculum Committee. Dr. Schmid teaches Biostatistics I, one of the core courses in the master’s of public health curriculum, and has developed and taught several other courses.

She also was named as one of UNMC’s outstanding teachers for 2013.
