UNO classes to be offered at UNMC

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) will again be offering classes on the UNMC campus for the coming semester.

The following UNO courses will be available; the semester runs from Aug. 26 to Dec. 20.

  • BRCT/THEA 1050-803: Film History and Appreciation, Thursdays from 5 to 7:50 p.m., Bennett Hall, Room 2020: The course will be taught by Gary Repair, the executive producer of UNO Television. Students will study the aesthetic values of the motion picture, as well learn more about the history of the film and survey of the elements involved in filmmaking. Film History and Appreciation will fulfill three required credits within the Humanities/Fine Arts segment of UNO’s General Education requirements. There are no prerequisites for this course.
  • SPAN 2110-802: Intermediate Spanish, Wednesdays from 5 to 7:50 p.m., Bennett Hall, Room 2020: The course will be taught by Arturo Miranda and will review grammar, emphasize continued oral practice, contain writing, and provide an introduction to literary readings. To register requires successful completion of SPAN 1120 with a grade of C- or better, or placement by department diagnostic exam.
  • SPCH 4700/8706-802: Interpersonal Conflict, Mondays from 5:00 to 7:50 p.m., Bennett Hall 2020: The course will be taught by Marshall Prisbell, Ph.D., and provides an overview of interpersonal conflict processes. It examines perspectives on conflict, patterns of constructive and destructive conflict, conflict styles and tactics, interpersonal power, negotiation strategies, conflict assessment and conflict skill development. To register requires junior-level standing, as well as successful completion of either SPCH 2010 or SPCH 2410.

If you are a full-time, regular employee, you can take advantage of the Employee Scholarship program, which allows employees to take up to 15 credit hours per academic year at any University of Nebraska campus.
