What is your best memory from your time at UNMC?

My best memories involve meeting and working with a variety of people from across the state. I get to see a glimpse of their communities through their eyes and feel as though I’ve made some lifelong friends as well.

Our four brand values are leadership, commitment to excellence, working together and being a trusted resource. Pick one and tell us a time you witnessed it embodied at UNMC.

Working over the years on the steering committee for the College of Nursing Staff Organization, I have had the privilege to see these values in the people who have served alongside me. Almost every year, we ask the CON nursing staff to respond to a survey and evaluate how UNMC and the CON are benefiting and supporting them. We have discovered consistently that staff are committed to excellence and collaboration with faculty and administration to make UNMC a better working environment for all. I am really proud of the effort and work that UNMC CON faculty and staff put out. They are awesome together!

  • My nickname is “Glow” and my grandchildren call me BaBa Glow.
  • I am a big fan of supporting our children’s education in all areas, especially reading. I was co-leader in our local “Friends of the Library” group for several years.
  • Presently I am the storyteller for pre-school at my local church’s Awana group and have three special puppets and voices I supply for them. Hello, Cubbie Bear!
