Nationally known cardiac surgeon to speak at UNMC Tuesday

Nationally noted cardiac surgeon Francisco Arabia, M.D., surgical director of Cedars-Sinai’s mechanical circulatory support and heart transplant program in Los Angeles, will speak at UNMC Tuesday on the total artificial heart.

Dr. Arabia will speak at 7 a.m. at the Eppley Science Hall, Room 3010. The presentation will be streamed live here, and it will be archived and available for viewing following the presentation here.

“We are fortunate to be able to hear Dr. Arabia discuss this exciting development,” said Mike Moulton, M.D., professor and chief of cardiothoracic surgery. “The total artifical heart is on the cutting edge of cardio-thoracic medicine, and Dr. Arabia’s insights will be fascinating.”

Refreshments will be available to the first 100 attendees.
