Susie Thorne and Friends will kick off this year’s slate of Music as Medicine lunchtime performances today.
Thorne is a Hastings native who studied piano performance at the University of Colorado at Denver and vocal studies at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Boulder, Colo., and the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
The performance begins at noon and runs until 1 p.m. at the Durham Outpatient Center’s west atrium.
Also on tap for this season are the Omaha Chamber Music Society, the Burt Street Individuals and performers from Omaha Central High School. See the complete Music as Medicine season series here.
Music as Medicine concerts are free. Patients and families, staff, students and the community are invited to bring lunch and enjoy the concerts, sponsored by UNMC’s Office of the Chancellor.
