On Wednesday, Microsoft announced a critical software vulnerability that could impact workstations and servers. This is a variant of the Blaster worm. This is a new vulnerability requiring a new critical patch.
As of Wednesday afternoon, there were no known instances of the worm. However, the timeframe for the worm to start appearing could be short. ITS needs your help. It is very important that the latest Microsoft Critical Patches are installed on all workstations. ITS is also asking individuals to make sure their “auto update” feature for Microsoft and Antivirus software is turned ON.
