Get your flex spending in

UNMC’s Human Resources Department reminds employees that although March 31, 2014 will be the last day for filing for Flexible Spending Account (FSA) reimbursement from WageWorks Inc., expenses must be incurred during the 2013 calendar year.

UNMC’s flexible spending plan is no longer administered internally. It is now administered by Wageworks, Inc. The program can be accessed through Firefly, under the “Benefits” tab in the “Flexible Spending Accounts” link.

The FSA plan is a voluntary benefit that the university offers to benefits-eligible employees. The plan helps individuals save money by allowing them to set aside pre-tax income to pay for eligible medical and dependent care expenses. Individuals can enroll annually during NUFlex enrollment or when a permitted election change event occurs during the plan year.

If the accounts are not depleted by the end of the calendar year, whatever money is left over cannot be carried over or refunded.
