Cindy Ellis, M.D.
The Munroe-Meyer Institute’s Cindy Ellis, M.D., associate professor of developmental medicine, was elected a member at-large for The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD), an organization that supports and promotes a national network of university-based interdisciplinary programs.

Javeed Iqbal, Ph.D., pathology and microbiology, has received a three-year, $600,000 grant from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to study somatic mutations and epimutations in peripheral T-cell lymphoma. In all, the LLS awarded 21 new grants representing a total investment of $12.6 million to tackle six areas of high unmet medical need in the blood cancers. Dr. Iqbal’s grant was one of three awarded in the category of novel therapeutics for patients with non-cutaneous T-cell malignancies. The LLS is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The LLS mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
