The Faculty Women’s Club Wednesday honored UNMC’s Barbara Harrison and Patti George for helping the group meet its goals. It also recognized seven student scholarship recipients.

George, a coordinator in the department of student counseling, family medicine, was recognized for her annual coordination of UNMC student elections, which the Faculty Women’s Club monitors on Election Day. “She has tirelessly streamlined our participation making it an effortless way for us to earn monies for student scholarships,” club members said.

Harrison, a staff secretary in the department of psychiatry, was honored for her voluntary contribution to scholarship sales. “She is tireless in her efforts at promoting, marketing, delivering and modeling each years’ offerings,” club members said. “She has personally raised not only a significant amount of student scholarship monies, but also awareness of what Faculty Women’s Club is about. We call her our ‘Sweatshirt Queen.’ ”
