UNMC’s Ira Combs to speak at Martin Luther King Jr. event

The annual Martin Luther King Jr. event will be held today from noon to 1 p.m. in lower Storz Pavilion. It will feature a keynote address by Ira Combs, community nurse coordinator, UNMC College of Public Health, community health advocate and recipient of the “Champions of Change” Award from the White House.

Those unable to attend can watch via a live stream feed available by clicking here beginning at 11:50 a.m.

It is suggested that employees who wish to view the event via this method have Quick Time on their computers. A free download is available on the Internet. If you have trouble accessing the program, call the UNMC Operation Center at (402) 559-8090 as soon as possible.

Combs speech is titled “King, Health Care and his Letter from Birmingham Jail.” Musical accompaniment will be provided by Omaha keyboardist Nate Asad and drummer Billy Foeman Quartey.
