Evy Katz
Evy Katz, a low vision occupational therapist, will speak at the Feb. 18 Olson Center Brown Bag Luncheon as the Olson Center recognizes Low Vision Awareness Month.

Katz will speak about the common causes of adult vision loss and what can be done if you or someone you know has been diagnosed with a non-correctable vision loss.

See Katz discuss adaptions for low vision in a brief video here.

The discussion will help identify basic principles of adaptations to make the home and community more livable for adults with vision loss. Katz also will discuss community and national resources available for people with low vision.

The Brown Bag will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the UNMC Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater. Seating is limited; please pre-register by calling the Olson Center at 402-559-6345. Bring your lunch. Simple refreshments will be provided.

The lectures are free. However, nursing credit is available for $10. Payment instructions will be given when you pre-register.

The UNMC College of Nursing Continuing Nursing Education is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This activity is provided for 1.0 contact hour under ANCC criteria.
